Butter Swim Biscuit Bread

This butter swim biscuit bread is a favorite, soft, buttery, and baked in one pan. An easy recipe perfect for breakfast or dinner.

Prep Time 10 minutes

Cook Time 35 minutes

Total Time 45 minutes

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons white granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 stick or 8 tablespoons butter melted and divided
  • Whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt in a bowl. Add buttermilk and stir with a spoon just until ingredients are all wet and come together.

  • Spray a 9 x 5 bread loaf pan with cooking spray.

  • Add 1/4 cup of the melted butter to the pan and swish it around to cover bottom and sides of pan.

  • Add the remaining melted butter to your bread batter and stir with a spoon to incorporate into batter.

  • Pour batter into loaf pan and spread.

  • Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 35 minutes or until center tests done.

  • Let cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan. Makes 1 loaf.
