Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event lands on February 25

Samsung was quite busy last year when it came to releasing smartphones. Over the course of the year, the company launched the Galaxy S25 series, the Galaxy S25 Edge, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and even its first-ever tri-fold phone, the Galaxy Z TriFold.

With 2026 well underway, it’s no surprise people are eagerly awaiting what Samsung has in store next, namely the highly anticipated Galaxy S26 series. Luckily, the wait won’t be much longer.

Samsung has announced that it will host its next Galaxy Unpacked event on Wednesday, February 25, in San Francisco, California, where the company says it will unveil its “newest Galaxy innovations.” The event will be live-streamed on Samsung’s website and on Samsung’s YouTube channel, starting at 10 am PST/1 pm EST.

While Samsung doesn’t explicitly name the Galaxy S26 series in its announcement, given the sheer number of leaks and rumors around these phones, it’s hard to imagine the event being about anything else. Also, looking at the precedent here, Samsung has always released its new flagship phones early in the year, with the S25 series announced in January last year and the S24 series announced in February 2024.

Additionally, as it usually does with upcoming Unpacked events, Samsung has launched a special promotion that lets you sign up to reserve its newest devices ahead of their February 25 reveal. By reserving it, you can receive a $30 Samsung credit to use when you pre-order and be entered into a contest for a chance to win a $5,000 gift card for the Samsung Store.

What to expect from the Galaxy S26 series

Possibly more of the same

Since the Galaxy S25 series launched, rumors about the Galaxy S26 series have been in constant flux, but based on the latest leaks, it seems Samsung will stick to its traditional formula this year and announce three new devices: the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.

At one point, rumors suggested the Galaxy S26 Edge would replace the Galaxy S26 Plus in the lineup, but after the S25 Edge’s sales were not the greatest, Samsung has reportedly decided to stick with the S26 Plus.

Moreover, based on leaked renders published by Android Headlines, the design of the phones will also be very close to the S25 series, with the only major change being a pill-shaped camera island on the back, similar to what Samsung did for the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Specs-wise, according to a report from SamMobiles, the chips in the phones could vary by region between Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chips and Samsung’s Exynos chips. Reportedly, in the US, the phones will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

As for pricing, it’s unclear whether Samsung will increase prices this year due to the rising cost of components like RAM. For reference, last year Samsung priced the S25 at $799, the S25 Plus at $999, and the S25 Ultra at $1,299. So it’s possible the S26 series could be the same, or slightly more.

Fortunately, with Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event officially set for February 25, the wait to find out everything for sure isn’t too much longer.
